Christmas Poems
And All Because
by Richard John Scarr
Holly buds and mistletoe.
Christmas trees in painted barrels.
Lamp posts decked with fairy lights.
And Buskers singing Christmas Carols.
Shoppers crowding Christmas Markets.
Traders calling of their wears.
And everywhere a sense of wonder.
Hanging in the air.
Laden down with bags and parcels.
Greeting everyone we see.
The joy and magic of the moment,
fills us all with bonhomie.
And so we wish good Season's cheer.
To each, both friend and stranger.
And all because, once, long ago.
A child lay in a Manger.
