Poems About Life
Eyes of The Beholder
by Linda Bickos
Have you ever enjoyed a sunset
at the end of a hectic day
Have you ever caught the smile of a child
during an afternoon of play
Have you ever breathed the fresh clean air
after a violent thunder storm or
followed the brilliant colors of a rainbow
into a field of tasseled corn
If these things you haven’t experienced
it is time to take a break
from the troubles and uncertainty
your happiness is at stake
There are simple things to make a day
a happy memory in your mind
From butterflies to dewdrops
or the touch of someone kind
Keep an eye out for the little things
that get lost along the way
They will be there to keep you going
no matter how hard the day
